Last Sunday I ran 10k Mornington Chasers race with running buddy Bhina, at Regent’s Park. With sat nav getting me lost through East London, the journey was 1.5hrs, with a mad dash, dump the car for a beg in McD’s to use their, at the time, locked loo!

Absolutely soaked before we started, really really soaked, we started the race jumping puddles, fully splashed, a bit like cross-country on a park path.

B was doing and did do great. My poorly knee went at around half way, taking the limp-running sport seriously, I romped home around 1hr12. B did 1hr9.

So resting the dodgy knee, arranged a physio appt the Wednesday but leg has recovered. Went for a fast (for me..) 4m in 43m that morning for a fresh injury but it felt so good.

MAY have a torn cartlidge but some days there’s no problems. It MAY flip and when it does it gets caught and hurts. When it’s where it should be, it’s fine. This cost me £43 with a some ultrasound and pulse therapy thing. She wanted me to go back twice this week! Can’t afford it so arranged one… but am going to cancel. I’m going to try go to the docs I think.

I tried the 7m I’m meant to be back at to start my training schedule at 10m. I know I can do this distance but my knees just don’t agree with me.

In the meantime, I have to try look after myself as this training for the Mara starts 28 Dec. I have a Boxing Day 5m race too.

So, let’s get serious.

Monday Body Brush, Pilates/Stepper
Tuesday Body Brush, Run 4m
Wednesday Body Brush, Pilates/Stepper
Thursday Body Brush, Run 5m
Friday Body Brush, Pilates/Leg Magic
Saturday Run 8m

Ah.. the body brush is for the fat bits that are remaining fat ;)

And don’t tell mum.. I used my 2xu Compression Elite tights for my run on Saturday.. they’re my Xmas present from mum/dad! I’ll put them back in the box before Xmas ;)

Think your doing an absoloute amazing job. To still keep going on the day of that 10K run with that painful knee was nothing but sheer madness but also the mark of a true fighter and you should be so proud missy!
Rest that knee, follow Mike’s and the docs orders and you’ll kick ass, I so know you will. Just gutted that I’m gonna lose out on our lunchtime runs but hopefully we can still meet up once a week for our evening ones once you start your new job!
